Coffered Ceilings

We have done some very unique Coffered Ceilings recently as you can see from the photos below. We particularly like building curved box beams as in this one with the crisscrossing pattern. The Mahogany “Wagon Wheel” was also an interesting project with these beams curving on the vertical plane. The Elliptical shaped Sun Burst complimented this customer’s Dining Room quite nicely. We use true radius router jigs to machine out all our curved parts. The precision is equal to using a CNC. It is kind of “old school” but we prefer doing as much of the fabrication as possible.

Of course we do the more traditional rectangular coffers as well. You just can’t beat a library completely done in mahogany, with the coffered ceiling, the judge’s panels, and the base cabinets with bookshelves, as seen in this picture.
